Physics/A.I. wise, is there any game on ...

Templars losing track of you in the middle of city streets in Assassins Creed, Gears of war with a massive 10 enemies onscreen at once, Turok with bad guys dying from being shot in the ankle like 10 times, and still standing still. COD4 with jiggling ragdoll physics on enemies that die on surfaces that aren't level...the list goes on. It's like we are still in 2002.

Half life 2 still has the best physics engine and it came out in 2004.

FEAR still has the best A.I. and it was out before the 360 was released.

Someone please show me an example of amazing physics or AI which takes advantage of all the processing power these ''next-gen'' systems have.Physics/A.I. wise, is there any game on ...
assassins creed A.I. is dumb as hell, but the physics are awsome Physics/A.I. wise, is there any game on ...
yes Half Life 2 and FEAR came out before the 360....but when we say they have the best physics or AI we are talking about the PC version here.and I wouldnt say either of them have the best Physics or AI anymore.best Physics is hands down Crysis, and Best AI is probably STALKER now, that or Crysis.
star wars force unleashed for physics but thats not out yet. idk about AI

too much focus is on shiny textures, rather than challenging AI or immersive physics.

Grand Theft Auto IV could not be done last-gen. The Euphoria physics/animation/AI technology simply couldn't have run on the weaker consoles. In motion, IV is a gigantic step up from San Andreas.
Dead Rising
Then why the hell is starwars the force unleashed's coming to the ps2 and wii?
Then why the hell is starwars the force unleashed's coming to the ps2 and wii?
Those versions aren't using Euphoria. They're using a dumbed-down custom physics engine.
The best example is Uncharted, it's physics and AI are top notch, even for a current gen games.Fanboyism aside, there is also Assassins Creed, Dead Rising and Gears of War.But I think Uncharted is on top of them all.

LOL if you ever buy game on a PC try buying it on a console just to see how stupid it'll look. I mean seriously, the Pc is the best form of gaming. I purchased the sims for my old gamecube which I picked up for 60$ and bought like 5 games(wait did the GC even have 5 games?) lol just joking couldn't resist. But anyway I bought the sims and 007 from Russia with love on the GC and the sims was disgusting compared to the one I had on my PC. I mean it was so lacking, I just felt like crying.
for physics...oh hell yes. physics is like another tick box for games this gen....devs either put them in or their game is not considered next gen (its kinda sad to see but there ya go). however the vast majority of games only use physics for eye candy..it doesent have any real baring on the game. the only exceptions i can think of are crysis, HL2 ep2 and maybe elebits. star wars unleased might also use physics in interesting ways but thats the only other game i can really think of. besides that its just eye candy physics.as for AI? overall id say its gone backwards. with a few exceptions (Stalker, crysis (though sometimes that does some very stupid things) and UT3), AI in games hasnt really improved since outcast in 1999.devs have all this horse power and all they see to do is make their games pertier..... what a waste.
Dead Rising
/Thread

Dead Rising
/Thread
... it had physics and AI?

Dead Rising
/Thread
... it had physics and AI?
no, but a sh!t load of zombies.
There is no one the PS2 could have handled Heavenly Sword or Resistance.
I agree with the thread starter here. A lot of times, when a new console come out, the devs. tout x-amount of enemies on screen at once, advanced a.i, longer game, etc. But upopn playing these games, the only thing that really change are the graphics. The animation in Halo 3, is still comparable to the that of Halo 1. Heavenly Sword is not longer than a slew of Playstation 1 games, etc. My point is, you could still compare a lot of these games today to stuff that came out on the n64/ps1. Except for the graphics of course.
