i'm too lazy...bye
yeah he didnt even link it. :(
summarize it. it's not always a matter of ''intellect''; for some it's a function of available time.summarize.
Its quite poorly written. I got to the bit when it says ''casual'' ''retard......retard'' ''casual'' ''casual''..........''retard''. Not the most inspiring article.
summarize it. it's not always a matter of ''intellect''; for some it's a function of available time.summarize.
to summarize it will dumbed down the whole article. anyway, it means third party devs and the gaming industry don't understand nintendo's strategy. nintendo's aim is not for casual gaming or for casual games. it's called upstreaming. making people interested in video games then making them into an average gamer. they're basically starting from down to up while microsoft and sony is focusing already on the up that would explain their failure compared to wii's success. also, many people misinterpret nintendo's strategy.
I was wondering if this had been posted in SW, and was wishing it hadn't. People here aren't supposed to read such article - which is the very best article written about the gaming industry.

i saw this earlier today (and my eyes still hurt...its really long :P). a very interesting read. hes basically going into nintys business strategy and way of thinking for this gen and he does a very good job.but this is not new, nor is it the first time they have done it. in alot of ways the wii is the nes of the 21st century. i was reading this article and i just kept thinking ''like they did with the nes''. its a very effective strategy though and, in the long run, it can do only good for the industry imho.

Sorry though. Just wanted to see their reactions. Would you want me to kill the thread? I could do so.

I found this appropriate ... that is one giant wall of text. Hows about suming it up?
http://malstrom.50webs.com/birdman.html
oh. i get it. its april fools. ok.
It is a good read and it also proves both sides wrong a little. Not just the ignorant fanboy wii hater but also the over enthusiastic wii crazy fanboy.

I'm sure many educated gamers will read this article because of this thread. But many many more will come here with hateful, misinformed or dumb comments. And this article deserves much more than that, it puts every other attempt to analyse the industry to shame, including IGN, Kotaku, etc.But the real ownage is in that site homepage. ;) Check it.

But i'll say this: I dont hate the wii, i just have no interest in getting one. My sisters are into ds and wii, but i am not. I would be happy to play party games for fun once in a while on the wii. I'm also not a fan of the control scheme. I've not tried it of course  (my bad) i guess its ignorance or dislike of something mainstream. (like my dislike of emos)
Good read thanks.
