Not at all.Does ANYBODY actually believe Microsoft' ...
Not really but who knows?
Everyone, it's obvious it's so true...
Haha no way. Sales were actually high for 360 that month but PS3's were even higher.
no, its bull****just like ps3 4d,native 1180p, and that games now need 50gigs of space
Considering they are always announced a day before NPD..The Wii outsells everybody WITH shortages. Meanwhile 360 after 2 years on market and significantly less demand than the Wii has shortages? :?Maybe pigs do fly..
They were absolutely true in January and verified through 3rd party research (calling retailers and such). February not so much at least the second half. They said in January it would last through Feb so March NPD is the real test.
I have a feeling we'll be hearing a lot more of these ''shortages'' for the rest of the year.
Do they really have to damage control though? I mean I think what hurt their sales or should I say boosted PS3 sales is clear, RROD, Blu-Ray and good games. Somebody tell Microsoft its not a sin to get outsold by PS3..I know all companies lie but this is kinda funny
Well, it's not like anyone can prove they're lying, so what the Hell does it matter, and if they say they'll improve on March's NPDs, then they probably did, if not, that leaves us right back at guessing whether they had supply issues or not, we'll never know.
I have a feeling we'll be hearing a lot more of these ''shortages'' for the rest of the year.
What makes you say that?
yes, it makes sense. it sold a lot over christmas and they could be clearing stock for a new SKU or bundle.
yes, it makes sense. it sold a lot over christmas and they could be clearing stock for a new SKU or bundle.
Didn't the PS3 sell more worldwide?
yes, it makes sense. it sold a lot over christmas and they could be clearing stock for a new SKU or bundle.
Didn't PS3 sell more world wide during the same period of time? Clearing for a new SKU? You do know PS3 80GB is non existent right now right?

yes, it makes sense. it sold a lot over christmas and they could be clearing stock for a new SKU or bundle.
Didn't the PS3 sell more worldwide?
not for December. the 360 sold something like 1.2m for Dec. and the ps3 only sold 700k.
I believe them when analyst also agree with it. Its certainly more trustworthy than people on a message board with zero connections in the game industry and absolutely no insider knowledge what so ever. They say it will last until april. If they keep extending it'll be bogus imo, but were still a month away from that.Pachter said something interesting about Wii shortages in the US that might have an effect. Because the dollar is so weak, its more profitable to sell systems in Europe and Japan. He said thats one reason why the US seems to forever have shortages of the system. Business wise that makes perfect sense for a product thats in demmand worldwide. You don't shun the poor market, but if you're gonna pull from one place and give it to another, it'd be from the place that gives you the least profit to those that give you the most.MS pushing big in Europe may explain the US shortages. The PS3 has been beating the 360 hear by like 30K units or less, so its believable from a business perspective. Try to push more in a country where the currency means you make more per system than in a country where you make less per system, especially when you're already doing well in the less per system country.

My local Target had 6 360s available yesterday. 2 elite, 2 pro and 2 arcade so no shortage. The Wii on the other hand had a sign stating due to high demand, they do not have any Wiis and do not know when new shipments will be coming in. There was 1 40gb PS3.
I believe there were shortages between October-December.. especially with the elites. I couldn't find them anywhere. But since about mid January, I see them everywhere and see fewer and fewer ps3's.
Actually MS wouldnt benifit from selling more in Europe because the yare an American company. The Euro has stayed the same compared the Yen while the dollar has dropped and the price of the Wii has stayed the same. The dollar has lost ground against the Euro and the price of the 360 has also dropped so the same situation doesnt exits there. Still im sure they are pushing in Europe with their price drop and all.
